About the Role

Food and food service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers ensure customers’ products arrive at their destination on time and in good condition while building lasting relationships as the face of our company. The CDL-A Driver is responsible for driving a tractor trailer or straight truck on local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes to deliver and unload food and food-related products safely and in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate and interact professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers to answer questions accurately and promptly.
  • Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip), including DOT-compliant inspections of tractor/truck and trailer; report safety issues or needed repairs.
  • Follow DOT regulations and company safe driving policies; immediately report all safety hazards.
  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight; perform count checks and verify customer invoices.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly (e.g., freight documentation, hours of service logs).
  • Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined routes; unload products and transport items into designated storage areas.
  • Perform damage control checks, scan items, and follow company policy for removing orders.
  • Verify deliveries with customers and obtain signatures; collect payments (cash or checks) where required.
  • Load customer returns onto the trailer and secure trailer doors; ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are always secured.
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns; complete necessary paperwork.
  • Unload equipment/materials and remove trash from trailers; maintain cleanliness of tractor, trailer, and loading dock area.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties and other related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • 6+ months of commercial driving experience.
  • Valid CDL-A license.
  • Must be 21+ years of age.
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
  • Pass post-offer drug test, criminal background check, and road test.
  • Valid/current DOT Health Card or ability to secure one.
  • Able to hand-lift and use equipment (e.g., two-wheeler, lift gate) to move product cases/freight ranging from 10–90 pounds throughout the shift.

Schedule

Monday–Friday with early morning start times. Local routes only; no nights or weekends.
