Claims - Workers Compensation Specialist I-IV

About the role

The Claims Workers' Compensation department at The Cincinnati Insurance Companies is seeking an experienced workers' compensation specialist level 1-4 to service the territory surrounding California.

Responsibilities

• Interview insureds, claimants and witnesses
• Review hospital records
• Evaluate claim facts and application of workers' compensation statutes
• Perform medical management of claims files
• Prepare reports of findings and secure claims completion with claimants
• Use claims-handling software, laptop and phone to adjust losses in a paperless environment
• Provide superior and professional customer service

Requirements

• Licensed to handle CA claims
• Experience handling medical-only and lost-time workers' compensation claims

Qualifications

• Workers' compensation claims experience (preferred)
• A degree in a related field (preferred)
• Claims designation(s) (preferred)

• Ability to work unsupervised
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Problem-solving and negotiation skills
• Organizational and prioritization skills
• Knowledge of jurisdiction laws, procedures and regulations
• A valid driver's license

Pay

The pay range for this position is $53,500 - $90,000 annually. Pay is based on the applicant’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills and abilities.
