Claims Support Specialist
About the role
The Claim Support staff is responsible for coordination and processing of daily activity relating to the administration of manual claims. The Claim Support staff will also work closely with Claims management and Claim Examiners to ensure accurate processing of manual claims. The role involves various data entry tasks on a weekly and monthly basis.
Responsibilities
- Assist in sorting mail on high volume days
- Enter manual claims for specific group(s)
- Data entry of various reports for Claims and Operations Quality Teams
- Produce Claim Examiner monthly progress reports
- Coordinate document scanning as needed
- Assist with audit preparation as needed
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required, documented proof must be provided)
- One to two years of office experience, preferably in the healthcare industry

Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Working Environment & Physical Demands
The work environment is moderate in noise level. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, speak, or hear. The employee frequently uses hands to feel or handle items and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand.
