Claims Specialist
About the role
Park Nicollet is seeking a Claims Specialist to join their team. The role involves ensuring timely submission and payment of insurance and third-party claims, adhering to relevant regulations and payer requirements. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining strong cash flow and enhancing patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Pre-adjudication and follow-up of claims
- Facility and professional claims management
- Commercial and government payer interactions
- Resolution of payer denials from the provider side, especially in workman’s comp and commercial claims
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Moderate proficiency with personal computers, particularly Microsoft Office Suite
- Working knowledge of typical office equipment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a healthcare revenue cycle environment
- Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology and procedural/diagnostic coding (CPT, ICD)
- Proficiency with Health Information Systems (e.g., Epic)
