Claims Processing Representative

About the Role

This position handles the day-to-day functions related to the successful processing of dental insurance claims, including processing payments to accounts according to company policies. The role completes all phases of Claims Processing training and must meet set deadlines and departmental accuracy standards. The position is located at our corporate office in Southfield, MI and requires an onsite presence on Mondays with remote days Tuesday-Friday. Additional onsite presence may be required based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Post fundamental payer payments as assigned
• Follow denial protocols and procedures to correct or adjust claims
• Communicate clearly and concisely via telephone or email
• Assist with departmental administrative duties
• Post patient payments to accounts
• Perform other tasks as requested by the direct Manager

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience in medical billing systems (a plus)
• Understanding of Medicare/Medicaid laws, managed care, and commercial health insurance (a plus)
• High degree of professionalism and adaptability
• 10-Key & Alpha Numeric Data Entry with speed and accuracy
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including active listening and presenting findings
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows file management, database, electronic health/medical records, and patient billing systems
• Team-oriented with a high level of detail orientation and organizational skills
• Basic math and analytical abilities
• Ability to work independently and professionally in a high-volume environment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Predictable and consistent attendance
