About the role

We are searching for an experienced Claims Manager, General Liability for our Store Support Center located at 600 Citadel Drive, Commerce, CA, 90040. The primary role is to manage and support the company’s claims management programs and processes, including oversight of third-party claims administrators and related claims consultants.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all claims management processes—settlement, reporting, activity management, investigation, and resolution.
  • Interface regularly with third-party claims administrators and insurance carriers’ claim teams to ensure efficient and effective claims management.
  • Ensure third-party administrators maintain compliance with all required claims handling instructions, regulations, and laws.
  • Provide relevant internal and external reporting of claims data to operating, financial, and executive management.
  • Support internal budgeting and accounting processes related to claims to ensure timely and accurate expense payments and balance sheet accruals.
  • Provide ad hoc support to the actuarial claims valuation process, including explanations about changes in claims values.
  • Directly supervise third-party vendors assisting with claims handling, including interviewing, training, assigning work, reviewing performance, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college/university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of ten years of related experience and/or training, preferably in a high-volume claims environment, third-party administrator, or insurance company claims department.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Strong written communication skills for reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Effective verbal communication skills to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and ability to apply these skills to essential duties.
  • Experience working with third-party web-based claims management systems to monitor claims, access data, and create reports.
  • Ability to solve practical problems in situations with limited standardization.
  • Bilingual in Spanish (speak, read, write) preferred.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $130,000. Actual starting pay will be determined by experience and relevant skills.
