Claims Manager - Complex Claims Unit

About the role

This role supports financial strategy, forecasting, and performance management initiatives that strengthen business visibility and decision-making. You will partner with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to improve planning processes, financial discipline, controls, and resource allocation. Responsibilities

• Train and develop team members for professional growth
• Lead investigations and resolutions of complex liability claims
• Provide strategic oversight on liability, coverage, and claims settlement
• Implement innovative strategies for claim resolution
• Monitor claim performance and report on financial outcomes
• Stay updated on industry trends impacting claims and liability exposures
• Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders for effective claims management

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred; advanced degree or relevant certification such as JD or CPCU is a plus
• 7+ years of casualty claim experience in property and casualty organizations
• Extensive experience with environmental, toxic tort, and other complex long-tail liability claims
• Strong grasp of intricate insurance coverage issues and related risks
• Proficient negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Prior management experience in employee development and team leadership
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and AI technologies

Pay

$112,000 – $168,000 annually
