Claims Examiner - General Liability - US Wide Hiring Project

Hybrid schedule from multiple US office locations (2 days in office per week).

About the role

A leading insurance carrier is seeking an experienced Claims Examiner to join their General Liability team. This is a technical role handling mid to complex Commercial General Liability claims across a diverse portfolio. You will manage claims from first notice through resolution, with a strong focus on coverage analysis, litigation strategy, and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Handle complex CGL claims including premises liability, slip & falls and other bodily injury cases
• Handle coverage matters including writing own coverage letters and coverage decisions
• Manage litigated files, coordinating defense counsel and driving strategy through to resolution
• Evaluate liability, damages, and settlement exposure on higher-severity claims
• Maintain strong relationships with brokers, insureds, attorneys, and internal stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with company guidelines and industry best practices

Requirements

• 3+ years of Commercial General Liability claims experience (premise/product/slip & falls etc.)
• Experience with other liability claims such as construction BI, NYLL and/or builders risk claims beneficial
• Strong exposure to coverage investigation and litigated files
• Background with a reputable carrier or law firm
• Bachelor's degree required; industry designations (AIC, CPCU, etc.) are a plus

Pay

Competitive base salary ($100,000 - $120,000) + 10% annual bonus.

Schedule

Hybrid: 2 days in office, 3 days remote per week.
