Claims Examiner

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated Claims Examiner to investigate, evaluate, and settle commercial liability claims in our Richmond, VA office.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze coverage, liability, and damages
• Write both coverage and liability position letters
• Conduct interviews with claimants, witnesses, and other parties involved in the claim
• Negotiate settlements with claimants and attorneys
• Maintain accurate notes, records, and files

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of commercial general liability claims handling experience, including coverage, liability, and damages analysis
• Bachelor’s degree
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong letter writing ability
• Strong knowledge of commercial liability insurance policies, coverage analysis, and claims handling procedures
• Openness to learning and handling other lines of business
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay

Expected base salary range: $65,000–$85,000 annually. Eligible for participation in our annual bonus program.
