Claims Consultant - Miscellaneous and Allied Health Professional Liability

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations and analyze information
• Determine coverage, liability, and damages based on claims facts
• Communicate coverage and liability issues to insureds
• Set and monitor claim reserves appropriately
• Present cases for reserve authority approval to management
• Develop negotiation strategies for claim resolutions
• Manage litigation, including planning and budgeting

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate strongly preferred
• Minimum of three years handling third-party Professional Liability insurance defense or coverage litigation
• Experience with bodily injury matters required
• Familiarity with medical malpractice or allied health preferred
• Experience using AI-powered tools like Microsoft Copilot is a plus
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proficient in strategic thinking, negotiation, and advanced claim handling techniques
