Responsibilities
- Oversight of personal injury case files from start to finish
- Management of a team of personal injury professionals including paralegals, legal assistants, case managers, litigation paralegals, and legal secretaries
- Communication with clients, expert witnesses, supporting witnesses, insurance company adjusters, and medical providers to gather information
- Investigation of potential personal injury claims and provision of legal advice to prospective clients
- Arrangement of suitable agreements and settlement of cases on behalf of clients when appropriate
- Execution of the firm’s personal injury case management process and procedures according to written and/or verbal instructions
- Preservation and maintenance of the rights of the client and the professional integrity of the firm through expert representation in court or before government agencies
- Preparation of legal documents and negotiation of settlements on behalf of injured clients
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and a J.D. degree
- Minimum of three years of successful personal injury litigation and trial case experience in wrongful death, medical malpractice, personal injury, or civil litigation practice areas
- State license to practice law and State Bar Association membership
- Good understanding of personal injury law/tort law, medical terminology, wrongful death, civil and family law, and medical malpractice
- Proficiency in computers
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management skills, ability to be organized, and effective prioritization of projects and tasks in a fast-paced work environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellent client service
- Intermediate administrative and proficient computer skills
- Candidate must be currently licensed to practice law in the State of Georgia
