Claims Analyst (Virtual, US/CAN)

Responsibilities

The Claims Analyst will be responsible for settling cargo claims with government/military, corporate, or consumer customers within 30 days of receipt. This role manages customer expectations while conducting thorough investigations, reviewing correspondence, contract terms, and coordinating with repair firms to assess damages and mediate costs. The analyst determines liability and issues chargebacks based on findings.

• Verification (55%) – Verify and investigate all aspects of the claim to establish legal liability, identify accountable parties, and notify them. Utilize contract paperwork, repair firm assessments, and customer communications. Maintain precise records to support approval or denial decisions. Instruct repair firms to provide necessary inspection and repair reports for timely settlement.
• Negotiation (40%) – Assess the value of claimed items, evaluate repair alternatives versus cash‑out options, and differentiate pre‑existing damage from transit‑related damage. Review carrier liability, present settlement proposals, negotiate disputes, and finalize settlements in compliance with legal carrier liability and contractual terms.
• Projects (5%) – Complete various projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in claims or customer service.
• Excellent verbal, written, and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficiency with personal computers, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Strong organizational abilities and capacity to multitask.

Pay

Salary Range: $45,000 – $57,000 USD (may vary by location, market conditions, experience, and qualifications).
