Job Summary
The Claims Adjuster reports to the Worker's Compensation Attorney and is responsible for all processes related to Workers' Compensation claims.
Minimum Education
A High School Diploma or GED.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification
State of Oklahoma Insurance Department Res Co Staff Adjuster - Worker Comp License.
Work Experience
3 - 4 years related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to type 55 wpm minimum, utilize Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn additional software applications.
- Ability to multi-task and utilize and perform constant decision-making skills.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Receives, reviews, investigates and establishes incident reports, events, claims and reserves in a timely and accurate manner, including OSHA Log tracking.
- Receives, reviews, pays and enters all WC expenses, billing and medical treatments.
- Reviews and adjusts reserves in an efficient and accurate manner, closing files timely.
- Receives, reviews and prepares all legal pleadings and correspondence.
- Enters file activity and communications in a timely manner.
- Maintains filing and reporting requirements.
- Maintains regulatory OSHA Logs and reporting for SFHS.
Decision Making
Independent judgment in making decisions involving non-routine problems under general supervision.
Working Relationships
- Works directly with patients and/or customers.
- Works with internal customers via telephone or face to face interaction.
- Works with external customers via telephone or face to face interaction.
- Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
- Works frequently with individuals at Director level or above.
