About the role
The role involves examining, analyzing, and determining the extent of the company's liability concerning casualty or property loss or damages on claims filed. Responsibilities include calculating payments and approving payments of claims within a certain monetary limit, examining claim forms and other records to determine appropriate insurance coverage, interpreting account insurance coverage to settle claims, analyzing information obtained by investigation to evaluate claims and determine the coverage of loss or damage, assessing the extent of the loss or liability, ensuring that drafts are issued as claim payments are prepared, and obtaining liability releases for adjusted claims.
Responsibilities
- Examine, analyze, and determine the extent of the company's liability concerning casualty or property loss or damages on claims filed.
- Calculate payments and approve payments of claims within a certain monetary limit.
- Examine claim forms and other records to determine appropriate insurance coverage.
- Interpret account insurance coverage in order to settle claim.
- Analyze information obtained by investigation and report findings in order to evaluate claims and determine the coverage of loss or damage.
- Affirm the extent of the loss or liability.
- Ensure that drafts are issued as claim payments are prepared and liability releases for adjusted claims are obtained.
Requirements
- Basic Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer) required.
- Typing of 45 wpm.
- Good attention to detail.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Knowledge of claims adjusting required.
- Knowledge of Collateral Protection Insurance and other products helpful.
- InsurTrak knowledge helpful.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- P&C Adjuster License required.
- 2 years of claims adjusting experience required.
