About the role
The Case Management Specialist plays a crucial role in MetLife’s Global Customer Service and Operations team, focusing on processing and adjudicating FEGLI life insurance claims. This role is essential in helping customers navigate important life events with care, accuracy, and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Review and index incoming mail and claim documentation
- Enter and maintain claim data across multiple systems
- Determine claim readiness and adjudicate claims within authority limits
- Conduct investigations and communicate with customers and internal partners
- Manage follow-up activities and ensure compliance with policy provisions, quality standards, production goals, and customer service expectations
- Support training initiatives, process improvements, and system enhancements
Requirements
- Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a customer-focused approach and the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and data entry, with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Life insurance and/or claims experience preferred; college degree or equivalent relevant work experience is a plus
- Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality, company values, and flexibility to work overtime, including weekends, as business needs require
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior life insurance, claims adjudication, or financial services experience
- Experience reviewing and interpreting policy provisions, claim documentation, and beneficiary designations
- Knowledge of FEGLI products, claims processes, and regulatory requirements
- Proficiency navigating multiple systems and applications, including claims management platforms and Microsoft Office products
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, meet production and quality goals, and effectively manage competing priorities

Pay
The expected salary range for this position is $41,600 - $48,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
Schedule
This role may require working some weekends and evenings to accommodate business needs.
