About the role
The Clerical Paraprofessional provides clerical and administrative support to school staff while assisting with student supervision and non-instructional duties.
Essential Functions
- Affords assistance with copying, preparing, and distributing correspondence, reports, bulletins, and instructional materials.
- Maintains files, records, and documents to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
- Answers telephone calls, greets visitors, and provides information and assistance as appropriate.
- Sorts and distributes incoming mail and other communications.
- Affords assistance with maintaining inventories of office and instructional supplies and materials.
- Supports office operations and administrative staff with daily clerical tasks.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding students, staff, and district information.
- Helps provide student supervision during non-classroom activities, including cafeteria, recess, arrival, dismissal, and bus loading/unloading when needed.
Additional Duties
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Building Principal or designee.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Prior clerical or office experience is preferred.
- Proficiency with computers and standard office software applications is required.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
- The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, families, and community members is necessary.
- The ability to work independently and follow written and verbal instructions is required.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a school and office environment. Requires occasional outdoor supervision of students during school activities.
