About the role
The City of Chandler Police Department is seeking a Civilian Range Instructor to provide firearms instruction, safety, and related training to police officers and detention officers. The position also involves maintaining and repairing department weapons, armory, and other equipment.
Responsibilities
- Provide firearms instruction, safety, and related training to police officers and detention officers.
- Maintain and repair department weapons, armory, and other equipment.
Requirements
- At least three (3) years’ experience providing basic and advanced firearms training in a law enforcement environment within the past five (5) years.
- AZ POST Approved Firearms Instructor Certification.
- AZ POST Approved Rifle Instructor Certification.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED equivalency supplemented by specialized training in firearms use and safety.
- Previous law enforcement training experience and previous Glock and AR-15 armorer experience is desired.

Pay
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with benefits, with a 4/10 schedule.
Schedule
The position works Monday through Thursday from 0700 – 1700.
