Responsibilities
- Recognize, document, and collect physical evidence, including digital media.
- Perform forensic crime scene investigation and analysis.
- Oversee evidence-related activities at crime scenes and conduct follow-up forensic analysis.
- Work with various units across Larimer County, including Patrol, Jail, Investigations, and Parks and Recreation.
- Process evidence, maintain case documentation, and provide expert testimony in court.
- Assist law enforcement personnel at crime scenes to ensure continuity and preservation of evidence.
- Coordinate evidence processing with external entities like the Northern Colorado Forensics Laboratory and the Colorado Bureau of Investigations.
- Contact and cooperate with other law enforcement agencies in matters related to crime investigations.
- Provide technical and professional assistance upon request.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4-year Bachelor's Degree in Forensics or Natural Sciences preferred.
- Associate's degree or two years of accredited college or university study required.
- Flexible with time management and project pivoting.
- Clear communicator with effective communication skills.
- Decisive and independent problem solver with skills and tools to solve problems on scene and make decisions independently.
- 60-minute maximum drive time to Larimer County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) 2501 Midpoint Dr., Fort Collins, CO 80525 required.
