Civil, Structural Estimator

About the role

As the Civil, Structural, and Architectural Estimator, you will work on CSA estimates across multiple industries, including Advanced Generation, Battery Storage and Substation, Utility Solar, and Fuel & Natural Resources/Process. You will support the development of complete proposal estimates by combining multi-discipline inputs for CSA scopes, review design scopes, perform quantity takeoffs, and analyze construction productivity. This role involves developing estimate components such as contingency, escalation, and cost reconciliation, as well as preparing management presentations and maintaining historical cost data. Relocation assistance may be provided for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and consolidate discipline estimates into the Proposal Estimate.
• Review design scopes and develop quantities.
• Perform productivity analysis of construction operations.
• Prepare direct labor estimates, distributable or contractors indirect cost estimates.
• Develop contingency, escalation, and reconciliation for estimates.
• Perform comparisons of scope, quantities, and cost data between projects.
• Prepare management presentations and maintain historical cost data.
• Review designs and specifications for cost effectiveness and suggest alternatives.
• Support continuous improvement efforts and change management initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5 to 10 years of relevant experience is required.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, which may include a criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.
• BS or MS in Construction Management or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Field and/or project experience is a plus.

Skills

• Complex estimating principles/procedures.
• Cost principles/procedures and mathematical skills.
• Understanding of project design scopes and consulting skills.
• Analytical skills and ability to interpret specifications and contracts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Presentation skills and calculator proficiency.

• State of Colorado: $107,404 - $161,150
• State of Minnesota: (Range not specified)
• State of California: $102,522 - $161,150

Schedule

• Full-time role.
• Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based on manager discretion, job performance, and work assignments.
