This position is located at our project in Corpus Christi, TX, and offers a unique opportunity to expand your skillset in the rapidly evolving field of data center construction. Responsibilities

  • Engage in resolving in-progress issues, discrepancies, or disputes related to technical interpretation of drawings and specifications; clarifying and expediting home office or responsible engineer(s) response to meet project needs.
  • Liaise with home office engineering, outside engineering firms, and client representatives.
  • Provide on-site technical support in interpretation of engineering-released documents, specifications, and drawings, including input to the change management process.
  • Engage in the permitting process and interact with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
  • Work with Design-Build contractors once their efforts move to the field.
  • Effectively communicate with subcontractors to manage key drawings and documents in a revision-controlled manner.
  • Ensure revision control is in place for all construction documents and that contractors have the latest revisions.
  • Manage, control, and communicate all timely information related to potential changes in design and installation.
  • Work within the field sketch/redline process associated with changes.
  • Collaborate with Project Controls and Construction regarding the Field Design Revision process.
  • Act as a technically competent lead in response to contractor requests for specification deviations, working within the project-approved process.
  • Work with Field Quality, contractors, and Home Office Engineering to resolve Nonconformities (NCRs).
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to subordinate team members.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4-7 years of experience working in Civil, Structural, or Architectural engineering or 8-10 years’ experience in construction management of heavy-industrial process facilities, including life sciences and data centers.
  • A basic understanding of construction-oriented means, methods, codes, and standards.
  • Experience interpreting home office engineering documents for construction purposes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience, including certified technical training.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Field experience supporting construction.
