About the role

Entellus is seeking a Senior Designer to join our Land Development team in Austin, Texas. This full-time position will work with engineers, project managers, and technical staff to produce design plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates for projects including residential subdivisions, master planned communities, mixed-use, education, healthcare, and commercial/retail projects.

Responsibilities

  • Layout and design residential subdivisions, mixed-use developments, commercial/retail projects, etc.
  • Design work including paving, grading, drainage, water, and sewer design.
  • Assign final drafting/plan production to other drafters or produce plans independently.
  • Prepare engineering calculations in support of infrastructure design.
  • Review and apply design standards established by all agencies involved in each project.
  • Work within the scope, schedule, and budget assigned to each project.
  • Prepare hour estimates in support of project pursuits.
  • Manage and mentor designers or drafters, assign work, answer questions, and check for quality and accuracy.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in design and plan production for residential and commercial land development projects.
  • Expert in the latest AutoCAD Civil 3D design and plan production tools.
  • Highly proficient in grading/surfaces, including corridors and feature lines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Teams.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with team and clients.
  • Strong land development-related Civil 3D modeling skills.
  • Detail-oriented, professional attitude, team player, and self-starter.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment to prioritize various projects.
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours, if required.
