Civil Site Designer II
About the role
The Civil Site Designer II position is within the Land Development department at Benesch, a multi-disciplined planning, engineering, and professional services firm. The role involves working on a variety of land and site development projects, collaborating with Project Managers, and producing engineering models, analyses, designs, and supporting documentation.
Responsibilities
- Collect, organize, document, and communicate data and perform modeling, analysis, and/or design calculations of projects elements.
- Produce completed plans for permitting and construction as well as concept plans, advanced planning, and master planning under direction of others.
- Compute quantities and demonstrate awareness of relationships to pay items.
- Organize calculations to be included in design files, following project standards.
- Cover coordination of drafting of plan elements.
- Help produce a fully coordinated set of project documents including plans and specifications, inspections at project construction locations as well as pre-construction diligence.
- Develop cursory knowledge of applicable codes and standards and use of applicable CADD and Microsoft software.
- Help towards our goal to be one of the best companies in North Carolina as demonstrated by the qualities and accuracy of our design as well as the ability to provide our clients what they want so they can reach their objectives and goals.
Requirements
- Civil Engineering degree or related discipline required.
- E.I.T. and desire to work towards P.E. in the future, preferred.
- Knowledgeable in AutoCAD Civil 3D is a must.
- Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate in a team environment on challenging projects.
- Willingness to be adaptable to office and field inspection tasks.
- This position may include the need to perform field inspection and may require travel to project sites.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and graphic).
- Detail-oriented individual who thrives in environments that are deadline-driven.
