About the Role
The Civil Senior Project Manager will be the main point of contact in the day-to-day interaction with the Client’s designated representative and has the ultimate responsibility for both the quality and effective execution of engineering projects including grading, drainage systems, water distribution and supply systems, wastewater collection systems, and roadways. The role also involves hands-on design of engineering projects and mentorship of junior level staff.
Responsibilities
- Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates assigned engineering work.
- Prepares estimates for engineering work.
- Provides guidance and continuously educates team members on standards and changes within client or scope of work.
- Works with the Firm’s management on various aspects of assigned projects.
- Prepares weekly project status reports for assigned projects.
- Attends meetings with the Client for project review and coordination.
- Researches and prepares feasibility documents.
- Ensures effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all disciplines and all other project consultants.
- Manages, prepares, and coordinates all technical designs of multiple projects.
- Monitors work for compliance with applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, standards, and design criteria.
- Proactively works with the appropriate authorities having jurisdiction to obtain plan approval and permits.
- Attends construction meetings and conducts field observations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience since graduation.
- Previous full-time experience related to land/site development design in Florida is preferred.
- Florida Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) required.
- Highly proficient with Autodesk AutoCAD and Civil3D design software.
- Highly proficient with engineering design software such as StormWise WaterCAD.
- Highly proficient with MS Office suite.
- Excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with coworkers, owners, and public agency officials.
- Strong familiarity with local, state, and federal design criteria.
- Self-starter with the ability to work interdependently within a team environment.
- Must be flexible to changes and able to operate in a fast-paced environment.
