About the Role
The Civil Senior Designer is a senior-level design/drafting position responsible for producing design layouts and finished drawings. This role may serve as a discipline lead for projects, managing internal and external resources.
Responsibilities

- Assists the Engineering Supervisor in determining how to best meet job requirements, coordinating jobs, and conducting training.
- Assists Drafters in lower classifications with questions/issues during performance of project work.
- Cooperates with other team members and interacts professionally with individuals at all organizational levels.
- Performs basic and complex layouts.
- Produces new drawings and checks drawings for accuracy and completeness.
- Performs conversions between state plane coordinates and plant coordinates.
- Picks up red marks from check prints and corrects drawings as required.
- Performs detailed dimensional and bill of material checks of all drawings.
- Checks entire job for interferences and constructability.
- Performs additional responsibilities as directed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline with a focus in civil/structural design preferred, or equivalent combination of education/experience in lieu of degree.
- 4+ years of related civil design and layout experience required.
- Advanced AutoCAD Civil 3D knowledge required.
- Strong understanding of drafting techniques.
- Ability to understand and use general math and trigonometry functions.
- General knowledge and understanding of Civil codes and standards required for different types of work.
- Experienced in industrial site development, storm drainage collection and retention/detention systems, potable water distribution systems, sanitary collection and pumping systems, geometric road layout, permitting, site grading, and earthwork.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness in work.
- Strong PC skills including MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously under time-sensitive deadlines.
- Exhibits excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills.
- Occasional overtime may be required.
