Civil Safety Professional
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily safety oversight for all civil activities, including:
- Underground grading
- Paving and concrete operations
- Operation and coordination of heavy equipment (Triple 7 haul trucks, blades, dozers)
- Enforce site-specific safety protocols and regulatory compliance (OSHA, company standards)
- Conduct hazard assessments, safety audits, and JSAs across dynamic work zones
- Monitor excavation and trenching operations; enforce proper confined space entry practices
- Ensure rigging and hoisting operations are conducted safely and with proper inspection and oversight
- Engage directly with civil contractors, subcontractors, and site leadership to drive a culture of safety
- Respond to incidents, lead investigations, and support corrective action planning
- Deliver toolbox talks, spot training, and on-the-fly mentoring to reinforce safe work practices
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 5+ years of field safety experience in large-scale civil or infrastructure projects
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Earthwork and grading
- Underground utility installation
- Concrete placement
- Heavy equipment operation safety
- Rigging and confined space entry
- Experience managing safety on large data center, energy, or industrial projects strongly preferred
- Must be comfortable working in high-traffic equipment zones and rapidly evolving scopes
- OSHA 30 (Construction) required; additional safety certifications (e.g., rigging, confined space) preferred
- Hands-on, boots-on-the-ground mentality – this is a field-driven role
