Civil Safety Professional

Key Responsibilities

• Provide daily safety oversight for all civil activities, including:
  • Underground grading
  • Paving and concrete operations
  • Operation and coordination of heavy equipment (Triple 7 haul trucks, blades, dozers)
• Enforce site-specific safety protocols and regulatory compliance (OSHA, company standards)
• Conduct hazard assessments, safety audits, and JSAs across dynamic work zones
• Monitor excavation and trenching operations; enforce proper confined space entry practices
• Ensure rigging and hoisting operations are conducted safely and with proper inspection and oversight
• Engage directly with civil contractors, subcontractors, and site leadership to drive a culture of safety
• Respond to incidents, lead investigations, and support corrective action planning
• Deliver toolbox talks, spot training, and on-the-fly mentoring to reinforce safe work practices

Required Experience & Qualifications

• 5+ years of field safety experience in large-scale civil or infrastructure projects
• Strong working knowledge of:
• Earthwork and grading
• Underground utility installation
• Concrete placement
• Heavy equipment operation safety
• Rigging and confined space entry
• Experience managing safety on large data center, energy, or industrial projects strongly preferred
• Must be comfortable working in high-traffic equipment zones and rapidly evolving scopes
• OSHA 30 (Construction) required; additional safety certifications (e.g., rigging, confined space) preferred
• Hands-on, boots-on-the-ground mentality – this is a field-driven role
