About the role

Stantec's Rochester, NY office has an immediate need for talented, team-focused Civil Designers to work on roadway and/or bridge and culvert projects under the guidance of an Engineer. You will utilize your knowledge and experience to contribute to a variety of projects from conceptual design through construction.

Responsibilities

  • Design roadways in accordance with AASHTO and NYSDOT specifications and CADD Standards using Bentley Open Roads, Open Bridge, and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Develop design plans and calculations, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates.
  • Prepare engineering reports and technical studies such as design memos, feasibility studies, Concept Design Reports, Design Exception Reports, and Preliminary Engineering Reports.
  • Perform field work and support construction phase services.
  • Work alongside experienced practitioners to expand your knowledge.

Requirements

  • Experience with Open Roads Designer, Open Bridge Designer, and / or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Office, BlueBeam, Projectwise.
  • Understanding of civil engineering design concepts for grading, drainage, earthwork, roads, bridges, and culverts.
  • Strong communication, coordination, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented and ability to remain focused.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.

Credentials

  • Experience with Open Roads Designer, Open Bridge Designer, and / or AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Qualifications

  • Civil engineering technician/technology diploma from a recognized community or technical college or the ability to demonstrate sufficient knowledge received from previous experience.
  • 0 to 3 years of experience in engineering consulting or construction industry.

Pay

$67,800.00 - $94,900.00 Annually
