Timmons Group is seeking a motivated Civil Project Engineer II/III to join our Water & Wastewater Group in Charlotte, NC. Responsibilities

  • Design components of water and wastewater projects using Civil 3D and other modeling tools
  • Perform engineering calculations and problem-solving using software and technical skills
  • Research and specify materials, installation methods, and inspection criteria for project documentation
  • Develop detailed design plans and construction documents
  • Conduct field observations, inspections, and data collection to support project development
  • Prepare engineering and construction cost estimates
  • Collaborate with internal design teams and communicate with client staff under guidance from senior engineers
  • Write objective summary reports to support project decisions and inspections

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field
  • 2+ years of experience in civil engineering design, ideally with a focus on water infrastructure
  • EIT or PE license preferred
  • Familiarity with Civil 3D and other CAD software (Civil 3D strongly preferred)
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
