Civil or Mechanical Engineer - Entry Level
About the role
Farnsworth Group is seeking an Entry-Level Engineer in one of the following locations: Frisco, TX, Lisle, IL, St. Louis, MO. In this role, you will work with experienced engineers on telecommunications and utility projects. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and experience in the utility engineering industry.
Responsibilities
- Support telecommunication and utility related project development
- Complete site visits including but not limited to surveying, locating, and documenting existing conditions (may include overnight travel depending on job location)
- Review roadway plans to identify conflicts with existing utilities
- Design telecommunications and other utility projects using MicroStation, AutoCAD, or other design software
Requirements
- BS in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, from an ABET accredited institution
- 0-3 years of experience
- Exposure to transportation plans, telecommunications, or utilities a plus
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification a plus
- Computer proficiency with MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Willingness to travel and have a valid driver’s license
Nice to haves
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
