About the role

Farnsworth Group is seeking an Entry-Level Engineer in one of the following locations: Frisco, TX, Lisle, IL, St. Louis, MO. In this role, you will work with experienced engineers on telecommunications and utility projects. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and experience in the utility engineering industry.

Responsibilities

  • Support telecommunication and utility related project development
  • Complete site visits including but not limited to surveying, locating, and documenting existing conditions (may include overnight travel depending on job location)
  • Review roadway plans to identify conflicts with existing utilities
  • Design telecommunications and other utility projects using MicroStation, AutoCAD, or other design software

Requirements

  • BS in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, from an ABET accredited institution
  • 0-3 years of experience
  • Exposure to transportation plans, telecommunications, or utilities a plus
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification a plus
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Willingness to travel and have a valid driver’s license

Nice to haves

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
