Civil Inspector - PANYNJ
About the role
As a Civil Inspector, you will support construction management, inspection, and closeout services for structural, civil, electrical, and mechanical projects. This role is responsible for ensuring construction activities comply with approved plans, specifications, safety requirements, and applicable standards while coordinating with project teams throughout the construction process.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections throughout all phases of construction.
- Prepare daily reports, inspection reports, and project documentation.
- Monitor construction quality and verify compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety requirements.
- Identify and document potential change orders or extra work.
- Review contractor payment applications and provide recommendations.
- Coordinate inspections and project activities across multiple work sites.
- Work closely with contractors, Resident Engineers, Operations, and Maintenance staff to support successful project delivery.
Requirements
- 10+ years of construction inspection experience on projects ranging from approximately $500K to $5M.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Experience preparing inspection reports, daily logs, and construction documentation.
- Experience reviewing contractor payment applications and documenting change orders or extra work.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of construction safety practices and requirements.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and all required security clearances.
- Willingness to work evenings, nights, and weekends as project needs require.
Pay
The anticipated compensation range for this position is $65–$75/hr. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, education, certifications, skills, and work location.
