Civil/Highway CADD Designer

About the role
We are seeking a mid-level CADD Highway/Roadway/Stormwater Designer to join our New York, NY office. The CADD Designer will work closely with the CADD Manager, Project Managers, Engineers, and others to support project teams on proposals, planning, and design tasks.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers and the design team to advance and complete a variety of project types, including roadway, bridge, and drainage
- Produce 2D and 3D models and drafting of civil transportation plans using the latest version of either MicroStation or AutoCAD drafting software in accordance with company and client standards, with limited supervision
- Develop highway and roadway infrastructure projects with plans, profiles, superelevation transitions, and cross sections
- Produce conceptual and final construction design plans for utilities, grading, and stormwater
- Use 3D modeling for roadways, drainage, and grading designs
- Coordinate with complementary disciplines at a project level, which may include members of the structural, electrical, mechanical, and architectural team
- Support design services during construction activities
- Produce models for calculating construction quantity takeoffs and creating spreadsheets that summarize estimated quantities
- Assist junior engineers and professionals

Requirements
- Five or more years of experience as a civil designer or CADD operator
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred)
- High school graduate, technical degree in BIM/CAD software (preferred)
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation InRoads / GeoPAK, and OpenRoads Designer
Skills
- Experience with various infrastructure project types: Drainage, Roadway, Utilities
- Developing and supporting engineering drawings
- File conversion and file management between multiple digital environments
- Familiar with or able to quickly learn the following guidelines/standards: AASHTO Highway Design Guide, NYSDOT Highway Design Manual, NYSDOT Bridge Design Manual, MUTCD, NYCDOT standards, NYCDEP standards, and other related standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and prioritize tasks in a logical order
- Verbal communication and time management skills

Pay
$65,000–$75,000 annually, commensurate with level of experience.
