Civil/Geotechnical Staff Engineer
About the role
As a new or recent college graduate at Braun Intertec, you will play a crucial role on our engineering team, contributing to the success of our projects and helping us deliver outstanding results to our clients. Our fast-paced rotation will lead to engineering career opportunities with an emphasis in one or more of the following:
- Geotechnical engineering
- Construction inspections and testing oversight
- Slope stability
- Deep foundations
- In situ instrumentation
- Pavement engineering
- Bituminous materials
- Concrete materials
Our projects range in all sizes and complexities, including NFL, MLB, and MLS stadiums; interstate highways; municipal and county roadways; light rail transit; bus rapid transit; commercial and multi-family low rise to high rise structures; water and wastewater plants and utilities; in situ assessment of structures and materials. Our full-scale laboratories, drilling operations, and field service experts complement and support our engineering teams.
Responsibilities
It is our priority to train our diverse engineering staff for future careers. We use a variety of opportunities to build a strong foundation by performing some of the following tasks and analysis, under the supervision and mentorship of licensed engineers:
- Various field and laboratory tests
- Work independently on specific assignments of limited scope and with engineers and on larger projects as a team member
- Prepare proposals for geotechnical and material testing projects
- Manage basic geotechnical and material testing projects
- Maintain client communications and build client relations
- Develop solutions, make recommendations, and prepare engineering reports for review
- Observe construction in progress and reports to project or senior engineer
- Gain experience relevant to work toward obtaining Professional Engineer license
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with geotechnical, materials emphasis, or related
- Possess EIT certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to perform field related services at least 50% of time during the program field rotation
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to occasionally lift 50 pounds
- Ability to travel up to 25% of time

Pay
Compensation Range: $50,000.00 - $74,000.00
