About the role
KMM Telecommunications is seeking a motivated and skilled Civil Foreman to join our team of Telecommunications Professionals in Shrewsbury, MA. The Civil Foreman leads a field crew in the construction, repair, and maintenance of telecom tower sites and supporting civil infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Perform general construction of tower/small cell sites, including site layout, clearing, excavation, concrete foundations and slabs, tower assembly, trenching, installation of conduit, Ice Bridge, H-frames, fencing, aggregate roads/compounds, cabinet placement, wiring, securing, maintenance/repair, and other tasks as specified in work orders.
- Pick up and deliver supplies, tools, equipment, cabinets, and batteries using a KMM vehicle (towing trailer if applicable).
- Responsible for the upkeep of all KMM-issued tools and equipment.
- Follow proper safety procedures when using electrical test and communications equipment.
- Lead and manage a crew, including mentoring junior crew members.
- Maintain and submit complete and accurate files, logs, pictures, and reports as determined by supervisors or management.
- Provide superior customer service, ensuring all essential job functions are performed in a timely, efficient, accurate, and safe manner.
- Follow detailed method of procedures (MOP) and practices to perform installation and maintenance of equipment.
- Develop and maintain a positive KMM image and set a strong example for crew members in quality, safety, and professionalism.
- Adhere to all driving requirements as determined by State and Federal regulations.
- Adhere to all KMM and industry standards/regulations.
- Keep the KMM company vehicle clean and presentable at all times.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of recent construction or related experience.
- 3-5+ years of heavy equipment operation.
- 3-5+ years of concrete experience, including building forms and pouring pads.
- Experience with trenching, excavation, and placing conduit.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to lead a team.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical if required to drive a KMM vehicle.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; must be a self-starter, team player, and results-oriented.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office products and email.
- Ability to follow all safety policies and procedures while contributing to and maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
- Ability to sit, stand, kneel, or stoop for extended periods of time.
- Physically capable of manually digging and backfilling holes and trenches.
- Physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 80 lbs.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with an MVR record that classifies you as insurable.
- Ability to drive long distances on and off-road and to tow trailers.
