Civil Field Engineer
Job Summary
Supports field execution of enabling works, earthworks, grading, temporary facilities, access roads, water management, and erosion control activities. Responsible for technical coordination, quantity tracking, survey coordination, inspection support, redline management, and ensuring work is executed in accordance with project drawings, specifications, and schedule requirements.
Major Responsibilities
- Provides knowledge and expertise in a particular discipline, subject matter, or specialized process required for construction (e.g., tunnel boring, site de-watering, glove boxes, special coatings systems, HVAC systems, Fire Detection and Suppression, reactor tender gallery coordinator, etc.).
- Provides technical consultation support to projects.
- Work Planning & Packaging
- Prepares construction drawings and sketches.
- Led preparation of construction drawings and schedules and the design of temporary construction facilities and ensures preparation of "as built" drawings and other job plans.
- Material Management
- Initiates requisitions for field purchases.
- Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.
- Quantities
- Leads the verification of commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.
- Safety / Quality Control
- Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
- Technical
- Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities
Education And Experience Requirements
- Required bachelor's degree(or equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge And Skills
- Experience with large-scale earthworks and civil construction projects
- Strong understanding of grading, stabilization, and mass haul operations
- Knowledge of temporary facilities and access road construction
- Experience with survey coordination and as-built management
- Understanding of SWPPP, erosion control, and dewatering systems
- Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and specifications
- Experience with quantity tracking and field reporting
- Strong coordination and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with QA/QC inspections and testing requirements
- Industrial or infrastructure project experience preferred
