Civil Engineering Technician III
About the role
AECOM is seeking a candidate for the position of Civil Engineering Technician III in the Transportation Department in Stevens Point, Middleton, and Milwaukee, WI. Work will consist of construction inspection, materials testing, survey and administration of WisDOT and local projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for communicating directly with contractors, team members, and the AECOM project leader. They will need to work independently and with other team members to complete quality WisDOT and local construction projects on time and within budgets.
Responsibilities
- Monitors and documents conformance with quality, performance, safety and code requirements.
- Assists with engineering calculations.
- Sets up and operates equipment.
- Inspects equipment and engineering installations for compliance with specifications.
- Maintains project documentation.
- Communicates directly with contractors, team members, and the AECOM project leader.
- Works independently and with other team members to complete quality WisDOT and local construction projects on time and within budgets.
Requirements
- High School Diploma + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- General understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.
Qualifications
- Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Preferred Skills/Experience: Desirable but not required - GPS and Survey equipment knowledge, Civil 3D and AutoCAD familiarity, familiarity with municipal, county, and non-WisDOT construction projects, familiarity with WisDOT Standard Specifications and material certification requirements, WisDOT material certifications including AGGTECH, PCCTECH, Nuclear Density, TMS, and TMS.
