What You’ll Gain Hands-on experience on active construction and infrastructure projectsMentorship and guidance from experienced engineering industry professionalsExposure to diverse engineering tasks in both field and office settings Goals & Responsibilities This position includes, but is not limited to, the following duties and responsibilities: Support field inspections of sewer, water, and paving construction projects to ensure compliance with plans and specificationsUse of measuring and GPS equipment to verify materials, line, and grade accuracyMaintain accurate records and update project documentation utilizing electronic reporting softwareCollaborate with contractors, engineers, and municipal staff to maintain project schedulesRespond to public inquiries and assist in addressing construction-related questions or concerns.Work outdoors on real-world infrastructure projects that strengthen communitiesCommunicate effectively and collaborate professionally with diverse project teamsApply academic knowledge to practical engineering challengesAssist with field and office tasks as neededDemonstrate strong work ethic, detail orientation, and a commitment to project success Qualifications & Skills The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following education, experience, and abilities: Actively pursuing a degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related fieldStrong work initiative, attention to detail, and a desire to learnComfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditionsAbility to communicate professionally to build positive relationships with project teams, contractors, clients and the publicBasic math skills for accurate measurements and estimationsValid driver’s license and reliable transportationExperience with construction, surveying, or CAD software is beneficial but not required About Us Ruekert & Mielke, Inc. is a 100% employee-owned civil engineering firm empowering clients and employees since 1946.
