Civil Engineering Specialist - Freelance AI Trainer Project
Job Summary
We're seeking civil engineering specialists to contribute to the development of high-quality training data for large-scale language models. This work will help democratize world-class education, keep pace with infrastructure innovation, and streamline engineering workflows.
Responsibilities
- Challenge advanced language models on topics like load-bearing design, finite element analysis, hydrology and drainage systems, soil-structure interaction, sustainability assessments, earthquake-resistant structures, and CAD-based project planning.
- Document every failure mode encountered during model testing.
- Converse with the model on field scenarios and theoretical civil engineering questions.
- Verify factual accuracy and logical soundness of model responses.
- Capture reproducible error traces and suggest improvements to prompt engineering and evaluation metrics.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering field.
- Peer-reviewed publications, infrastructure project experience, site inspections, or public works planning.
- Clear, metacognitive communication skills.
- Expertise in civil engineering principles and practices.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and logically.
- Knowledge of advanced language models and their applications in civil engineering.
Qualifications
Experience with civil engineering concepts such as structural analysis, geotechnical engineering, transportation systems, environmental engineering, construction management, fluid mechanics, urban planning, and materials science is preferred.

The pay range is $6 to $65 per hour, with the exact rate determined after evaluating your experience, expertise, and geographic location. Final offer amounts may vary from the pay range listed above.
