Civil Engineering Specialist

Responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee preparation of transportation analyses, documentation of results, concept designs, costing and feasibility evaluations in accordance with established engineering standards and policies
• Perform engineering design of roadways, highways, gradings, utility connection, erosion control, and related infrastructure
• Create construction documents, including drawings and technical specifications
• Design alignments, drainage systems and grading
• Produce technical deliverables for highway and transportation engineering projects
• Prepare technical documents, traffic control device construction contract documents, public presentations, and proposals
• Develop contract documents for temporary traffic control, traffic signalization, signing and pavement marking and roadway lighting including cost estimation and specification preparation
• Conduct site visits and field inspections of projects

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with coursework in traffic engineering and urban transportation planning
• Minimum two years of experience in the position offered

Qualifications

Position based in Pittsburgh, PA; may work at home up to 2 days per week, subject to change at any time.

Skills

• Extensive utilization of MicroStation, GIS and CAD software
