About the role

A growing civil engineering consulting firm is seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Project Manager to lead land development and site development projects from initial planning and design through permitting and construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete project lifecycle for land development projects, including scope, schedules, budgets, permitting, design, and construction documentation.
  • Prepare and oversee civil engineering designs using Autodesk Civil 3D and GIS.
  • Develop site development plans, grading plans, erosion and sediment control plans, stormwater management plans, utility plans, profiles, and construction documents.
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to design effective stormwater management and drainage systems.
  • Design water, sewer, and other utility infrastructure.
  • Prepare project cost estimates and assist with budgeting and financial management.
  • Cook up with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders throughout all project phases.
  • Manage permitting applications and agency review processes.
  • Provide office and field support during construction, including construction administration and site inspections.
  • Mentor junior engineering staff and provide technical guidance.
  • Support business development efforts and help maintain strong client relationships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 8+ years of progressive civil engineering experience with an emphasis on land development and site design.
  • Candidates eligible to obtain licensure within six months of hire are encouraged to apply.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • Experience preparing civil engineering construction documents and permitting packages.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Site Development
    • Grading Design
    • Stormwater Management
    • Erosion & Sediment Control
    • Utility Design
  • Familiarity with applicable local, state, and federal design standards and permitting requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and project management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Willingness to visit active construction sites as needed.
