Civil Engineering Project Manager

Job Duties

• Coordination with clients and consultants to ensure that the design meets their needs and specifications.
• Making sure the engineering team follows best practices and meets jurisdictional requirements.
• Creating and managing project schedules to hit milestones and deliverables.
• Managing the engineering team to meet project deadlines and expectations.
• Monitoring project budgets and tracking design team hours to stay within cost projections.
• Identifying and communicating changes in project scope and their impact on time and finances.
• Providing technical support to the engineering team.
• Scheduling new projects after contracts are signed.
• Organizing and attending client, consultant, and agency meetings.
• Updating project summaries and schedules as work progresses.
• Reviewing and completing monthly billing sheets within given timeframes.
• Contributing to the development team.
• Performing other duties as directed by the civil engineering department director.

Knowledge and Skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with quick turnaround times.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail while maintaining consistent workflow.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D 2019 or higher, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Compliance with established company drafting and CAD standards.
• Efficiency in managing time and setting priorities to meet deadlines.
• Effective teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work overtime when necessary to meet deadlines.
• Organization and accuracy in work output.

Desired Traits

• Willingness to take on additional responsibilities to support other departments.
• Baltimore City and Baltimore County experience preferred.
• A Professional Engineer's License preferred.
