Civil Engineering Internship (Summer 2027)
About the Company
OneEnergy Renewables’ mission is to make clean energy the #1 source of electricity for consumers and utilities. The company develops solar energy and battery energy storage (BESS) projects across the United States in community solar, distributed generation, and large utility‑scale segments. Its diverse project pipeline, multiple locations, and multidisciplined team set it apart as a dynamic and innovative renewable‑energy industry leader committed to excellence, collaboration, and positive change.
About the Role
The Civil Engineering Intern will assist in designing utility‑scale and distributed‑generation solar energy facilities, including grading plans, pile placement, elevation plans, hydrological engineering, storm‑water management plans, and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP). All site design features must meet or exceed Conditional Use Permit requirements, building‑permit conditions, and other site requirements. The intern reports to the Associate Director – Civil Engineering, manages multiple engineering efforts with competing deadlines, and collaborates across Development, Engineering, Accounting, Finance, and Legal teams. The position is primarily design‑based with occasional opportunities to visit project sites, offering hands‑on experience in renewable‑energy project engineering.

- Format drawing plan sets and maintain AutoCAD template files and standards.
- Complete redlines based on reviews from engineers, developers, and local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ).
- Review and interpret geotechnical reports and wetland delineation reports.
- Produce cut/fill plans and quantities using AutoCAD Civil 3D to meet slope tolerances and optimize foundation material expenses.
- Participate in developing the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), erosion control, and dust‑control measures for the project.
- Read, interpret, and understand project documentation to fulfill all permit and site requirements with value‑driven designs.
- Research DOT, utility, storm‑water, and erosion‑control requirements for in‑state or out‑of‑state jurisdictions.
