Civil Engineering Intern (North Dakota)

Responsibilities

• Assist in testing procedures and equipment such as gradations, proctors, nuclear density gauges, DCP field testing, sand cone density testing, field concrete testing, and concrete cylinder testing.
• Conduct field testing and observations of construction materials, including concrete, soils, aggregate, masonry, asphalt, and reinforcing steel.
• Communicate with project managers, clients, and contractors at work sites.
• Participate in real-world projects, helping develop and apply practical skills using various testing procedures.
• Receive one-on-one mentorship from experienced professionals who will guide you through project challenges and career development.
• Collaborate with teams across geotechnical, environmental, and construction disciplines, gaining cross-disciplinary exposure.
• Build connections with industry professionals, attend training sessions, and engage in networking opportunities that can shape your career trajectory.
• Take part in leadership workshops designed to enhance your soft skills and prepare you for future roles in the industry.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related degree.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry 30-50 pounds.

Benefits

Pay transparency: Base compensation is expected to be in the range of $20 - $21 per hour. The selected candidate must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Work Environment

• This job primarily operates in a field environment in outdoor conditions, on construction sites with uneven ground and adverse weather conditions.
• This role secondary operates in an office environment and uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
