Civil Engineering Intern (Minnesota)

Responsibilities
- Assist in testing procedures and equipment such as gradations, proctors, nuclear density gauges, DCP field testing, sand cone density testing, field concrete testing, and concrete cylinder testing.
- Conduct field testing and observations of construction materials, including concrete, soils, aggregate, masonry, asphalt, and reinforcing steel.
- Communicate with project managers, clients, and contractors at work sites.
- Additional miscellaneous assignments on an as-needed basis.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related degree.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry 30-50 pounds.
Benefits
Pay transparency: Base compensation is expected to be in the range of $20 - $21 per hour. The selected candidate must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
Schedule
This role primarily operates in a field environment in outdoor conditions, on construction sites with uneven ground and adverse weather conditions. This role secondary operates in an office environment and uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
Physical Demands
- Frequent standing, walking, using hands and fingers, handling or feeling, reaching with hands and arms.
- Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50-100 pounds, pushing or pulling equipment weighing up to 200 pounds.
- Frequent working outside.
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
