About the Role
Over 10-12 weeks, you'll assist in engineering analysis, design, field inspections, report writing, permit application preparation, and site drainage and grading design while learning the Civil Engineering trade. You'll support project work within budget, collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations, and help document design progress from coordination through final check. This role provides hands-on exposure to site observations and multidisciplinary teamwork while delivering resilient, environmentally responsible infrastructure.

Responsibilities
- Assist with project design work for discipline systems according to code and IMEG standards.
- Assist with researching commercially available equipment and resources.
- Assist with client relations, maintain the project design notebook, and provide documentation for permanent record files.
- Assist with coordinating design and schedules with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment supplier teams.
- Assist with documenting design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
- Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check.
- Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information.
- Conduct periodic job site observations and all other services as required by the contract services agreement.
- May be required to assist with field duties such as surveying and materials testing.
Requirements
- Completed at least 2 years toward a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
- Strong interest in design consulting.
- Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs, CAD software, and BIM.
- Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry.
