Civil Engineering Intern (Aviation) - Summer 2027

About the role

RS&H is seeking an Aviation Engineering Intern to join the Aviation Infrastructure team. This in‑office position offers experience on conventional and design‑build projects that combine innovative design with technical standards to exceed client expectations and provide cost‑effective solutions. You will work within a collaborative, team‑oriented environment serving large and small airports, with service areas including airfields, environmental planning, and environmental stewardship & resiliency. RS&H is an employee‑owned firm known for integrity, accountability, curiosity, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Gain experience on a variety of conventional and design‑build aviation infrastructure projects.
• Apply innovative design and technical standards to meet client expectations.
• Contribute to cost‑effective solutions for airfield, environmental planning, and stewardship/resiliency work.

Requirements

• Current student pursuing a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering at an ABET‑accredited university, with at least one year remaining until program completion.
• Minimum 2.5 GPA.

Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications (Preferred)

• Prior internship or related experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD/AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience or exposure to FAA Advisory Circulars.
• Specific interest in Aviation Infrastructure.
