About the role
The civil engineering intern reports to a Designer, Senior Designer, or Engineer and works in the Flanders, Hackensack, or Wall, NJ office. The intern assists with project-related tasks under supervision.
Responsibilities
- Base-mapping existing conditions within the limits of a given scope in AutoCAD
- Mapping out all existing utilities for a given project
- Site visits to verify existing conditions
- Prepare and design construction plan sheets
- Prepare traffic control plans for use in installation
- Prepare permit applications/transmittal letters
Requirements
- Knowledge of engineering standards, as well as state and local regulations
- Currently in the process of obtaining a bachelor’s degree in a related field

Schedule
The candidate can expect to work approximately 100% of their week in the Flanders, Hackensack, or Wall, NJ office. Company hours are Monday – Friday, 8am to 5pm. This position generally works standard business hours, Monday through Friday. However, occasional site visits, field work, or business‑related events may be scheduled outside of normal working hours, requiring flexibility in schedule to meet business and client needs.
Pay
Salary range: $22 – $24 per hour, based on graduation year.
