About the role

Join Garver's Water Design Center (WDC) in Fayetteville, AR as a Civil Engineering Intern. This is an opportunity for an ambitious engineering student to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and professional environment, working alongside a close-knit team of water treatment facility planning and design experts. You’ll contribute to innovative solutions addressing pressing water needs in communities across the region.

Responsibilities

  • Assist engineers with the design and drafting of site civil components for water and wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Support development of grading, drainage, erosion control, utility, and site layout plans for a variety of projects.
  • Perform basic engineering calculations and quantity estimates.
  • Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D to support project design tasks.
  • Participate in project meetings, site visits, and field investigations as needed.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interest in designing water and wastewater infrastructure.
  • Willingness to learn in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Work Environment

This is an in-office position; duties and responsibilities are generally performed in an office setting. Occasional travel to offsite locations to perform work, attend meetings, or conduct field investigations may be required.
