Job Duties
- Design and draft civil engineering plans from concept to final, including public drawings, on-site drawings, and produce corresponding supporting calculations.
- Perform engineering calculations, hydraulic computations, worksheets, spreadsheets including TR-55, TR-20, and HEC-RAS.
- Coordinate with clients and consultants to ensure designs meet their needs and specifications.
- Utilize best practice design standards to comply with jurisdictional requirements and construction codes.
- Collaborate with jurisdictional representatives to facilitate reviews and advance client projects through the approval process.
- Meet project milestones and deliverables, regularly meeting with the Project Manager to discuss project status and address any issues or potential roadblocks.
- Work as part of a development team.
- Perform other activities as directed by the civil engineering department director.
Knowledge and Skills
- Proficiency in CAD including Civil 3D, ability to make surfaces, create cross-sections in 3D, and insert page sheet auto-numbering.
- Expertise in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with quick turnaround times.
- Strong written, verbal communication, and organizational skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail while maintaining consistent workflow.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Willingness to seek assistance when needed.
- Proven ability to resolve conflicts professionally.
- Capacity to work overtime when necessary to meet deadlines.
