Civil Engineering Associate

About the role

The position offers the opportunity to work on challenging projects in a supportive mid-sized business atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with other engineering teams/disciplines within the firm
• Work independently in a team environment and effectively manage time
• Obtain required construction permits, including sediment and erosion control, coastal stormwater, water/wastewater
• Work and effectively coordinate with staff in multiple office locations
• Manage time effectively, communicate clearly, analyze situations, and interact professionally
• Prepare bids and proposals, produce design drawings, prepare technical specifications, prepare permit submittals, and assist in providing bid services and construction monitoring

Requirements

• BS in Civil Engineering or equivalent engineering degree from an accredited college/university
• Fundamentals of Engineering (EIT) Registration
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in civil engineering and site design
• Ability to obtain military base access

Qualifications

• Knowledgeable in specific requirements affecting coastal communities in North Carolina and South Carolina

Skills

• Proficient with computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite and Civil 3D
