Responsibilities
- Work on challenging projects in a supportive mid-sized business atmosphere
- Coordinate with other engineering teams/disciplines within the firm
- Manage time independently and effectively in a team environment
- Obtain required construction permits, including sediment and erosion control, coastal stormwater, water/wastewater permits
- Work and coordinate with staff in multiple office locations
- Manage time effectively, communicate professionally, analyze data, and interact with others
- Understand and apply specific requirements affecting coastal communities in North Carolina and South Carolina
- Prepare bids and proposals, produce design drawings, prepare technical specifications, prepare permit submittals, and assist in providing bid services and construction monitoring
Requirements
- Minimum of BS in Civil Engineering or equivalent engineering degree from an accredited college/university
- Fundamentals of Engineering (EIT) Registration
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in civil engineering and site design
- Able to coordinate with other engineering teams/disciplines within the firm
- Able to work independently in a team environment and effectively manage time
- Experience obtaining required construction permits, including sediment and erosion control, coastal stormwater, water/wastewater permits
- Able to work and effectively coordinate with staff in multiple office locations
- Effective time-management, written communication skills, analytical and interpersonal skills
- Knowledgeable in specific requirements affecting coastal communities in North Carolina and South Carolina
- Able to gain Military Base access
Qualifications
- Experience preparing bids and proposals, producing design drawings, preparing technical specifications, preparing permit submittals, and assisting in providing bid services and construction monitoring
- Proficient with computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite and Civil 3D
