About the role

The Research Associate will contribute to the research group's projects focusing on numerical structural analysis. The successful candidate will work closely with Prof. Alexander Düster on advanced computational methods.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting research in numerical structural analysis using state-of-the-art computational methods
  • Developing and implementing new algorithms for structural analysis
  • Collaborating with other researchers and students within the group
  • Publishing research findings in peer-reviewed journals and conferences

Requirements

  • A PhD in Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience with finite element methods and computational mechanics
  • Strong programming skills in MATLAB, Python, or similar languages
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to conduct independent research
  • Interest in interdisciplinary research combining engineering and mathematics
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
